Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa Begins $150 Million Renovation
The Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa revealed its plans for an upcoming renovation and expansion that is projected to cost more than $150 million. The renovation, coinciding with the resort’s 30th anniversary, will begin November 13, 2017 with an expected completion date of mid-2019. The renovation will include adding a resort tower, redesigning guest rooms, expanding the pool scape, and providing a new lobby experience. It also will include the addition of a new conference center and ballroom, an event pavilion, six dining outlets, a new spa, a new lobby, a new golf clubhouse, and a new tennis complex.
Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa Managing Director David Jurcak said, “We’ve always prided ourselves on offering guests true Texas hospitality and now that we are evolving the physical aspects, we expect Omni Barton Creek to be one of the most sought-after resort destinations in the South.”
One of the goals of the project is to “blur the lines between indoor and outdoor experiences,” according to a news release, with panoramic views taking center stage. “Methodically blending the old with the new, Omni Barton Creek will set the standard for a world-class resort retreat layered with relaxed, yet modern, luxury.”
The new hotel tower will be the signature piece of the renovation. It will include 180 luxury guest rooms and suites, each with floor to ceiling windows showcasing views of the Texas Hill Country. The pool scape will be renovated to include a multi-tiered pool deck, including an infinity edge pool overlooking the 18th green on the Fazio Foothills golf course.
The new Mokara Spa will be a 13,000-square-foot “sanctuary” that will offer a rooftop garden and an adults-only pool. The new fitness center will include an indoor pool, as well as exercise machines and redesigned locker areas.
The Barton Creek Country Club area of the resort will undergo a complete interior redesign, as well as an expansion of the members-only pool deck.
The renovations coincide with multi-year golf course improvements that have started with Fazio Foothills and will be followed by Coore Crenshaw Cliffside in 2018 and Fazio Canyons in 2019.
