Looking for a family activity this summer incorporating art and culture?
The Contemporary Austin is offering family-friendly performances, hands-on art-making workshops, and visits with local artists every second Saturday this summer at Laguna Gloria. For kids ages two to 11 and their adult chaperones, these exhibition-focused events encourage you to drop in and create!
Second Saturdays Are for Families: Pinhole Cameras
Make a pinhole camera based on
John Grade’s sculpture, hanging from the trees at Laguna Gloria. See how his artwork frames a view of the sky and how you can create your own view of the world with a pinhole camera. Step into the museum’s temporary camera obscura, and see how the entire room is transformed into a giant pinhole camera.
