ROAD CLOSURES: 3M MARATHON & RELAY JANUARY 29TH, 2012

3 M Austin marathonOn Sunday morning, January 29th, 2012 six thousand runners will participate in the annual 3M Half Marathon and Relay in beautiful Austin, Texas. The 13.1 mile race starts at 6:40 a.m. on Stonelake Blvd. in Northwest Austin, and ends at 12:30 p.m. in Downtown Austin.   Since 1995, 3M Half Marathon has funded Austin organizations that focus on community-involved education. E. 16th Street, 6:00 a.m – 12:10 p.m. E. 17th Street, 6:10 a.m – 12:20 p.m. E. 18th Street, 6:20 a.m – 12:20 p.m.   Austin running medalsAlternative Driving Routes: The 3M Marathon begins up North near Great Hills and ends in Central Austin. For motorists attempting to cross the race route from the east or west between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., please use US Hwy 183 or 15th St. All roads south of 15th St. are unaffected by race closures. Anderson Lane and W.45th St. will re-open as the last participant passes at approximately 8:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. respectively.   For motorists attempting to drive parallel to the race route between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., please use MoPac Expressway, Lamar Blvd. or IH-35.   Parking and Transportation Options: Ample parking for participants, volunteers, and spectators at the Start Line will be at Parking Garage located off of MoPac Expressway between Tudor Rd. and York Rd.   At the Finish Line, participants, volunteers and spectators should park in the Parking Garage “E” at 1604 Colorado St. or Garage “Q” located at 1610 San Jacinto Blvd. On-street metered parking in the Capitol Complex is also available on race day, unless specifically prohibited.   The Austin REALTORS® at Regent Property Group support Austin organizations like the 3M Half Marathon and Relay.
