About the Westlake Community
Westlake is the common name for West Lake Hills, a city of its own right within the Austin area, just west of downtown and MoPac toward Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360.) West and south of Lake Austin, Westlake is in MLS area 8E and is home to over 3,000 people. Incorporated in 1953, the area spans four square miles and is roundly appreciated for its prized schools, which are within the Eanes Independent School District. Public schools include Eanes Elementary, Hill Country Middle School, and Westlake High School. Many private schools also dot the area, including St. Gabriel’s Catholic School and St. Michael’s Catholic Academy.
